Coaching

What is Agile Coaching?

We help you apply the philosophy and principles of the Agile Manifesto to your real working situations, as they happen. Learning in class is one thing, and while we try to make our courses as practical as humanly possible, teams often get back to the real world and fall back on old habits, or encounter new situations that they don’t know how to handle using an agile mindset. Coaching helps teams stay the course of what they committed to each other in class as well as help leadership to support the teams in that goal.

How does it work?

We identify an initial coaching backlog of what you’d like help with and as with any backlog, we will make it visible, ask for your prioritization and will revisit it often to add, remove and change items based on current context. Coaching sessions can consist of sitting with teams during their work for support in XP practices, ceremonies or ad-hoc workshops to delve into particular topics like story writing or stakeholder management.

When should you get coaching?

We generally recommend teams and leaders get focused coaching just after a class and taper off over the course of a few weeks or months. We aim to create stable teams and organizations that are not dependent on coaching support and find the taper a good way to help ease the transition.
